Phenix Hair Designs was birthed out of San Francisco’s world renowned Winfred’s Salon. Winfred’s was a premier destination in the African American beauty community located in the Fillmore / Lower Pacific Heights area of San Francisco. Phenix Hair Designs was started with two of the three original partners, Cheree Mechelle and Ona Watley who worked with Winfred for many years before his passing. It was by Winfred’s wishes that his legacy of excellence, professionalism, community, and beauty be kept alive. Today Cheree Mechelle is continuing to honor her commitment with Phenix Hair Designs.

It is our desire to impart our extensive knowledge of hair care and style in ways that educate and enhance the quality of our client’s lives. In today’s fast pace society when the woman on the go has very little time to worry about her look, we pride ourselves on being able to help our clients find and or enhance their personal style. With our professionalism, knowledge, hands-on approach, and commitment to excellence, we endeavor to not only support in the building of esteem but to also assist in a no fuss approach to loving your hair. Cheree Mechelle received advanced training from Stephen Saiz Salon located in San Francisco’s Union Square. She also worked consecutive summers in Paris France with the highly acclaimed Nicole Pembrook of Ibe.Paris. (International Beauty Expert) Cheree Mechelle also professionally maintained San Francisco Mayor London Breed’s hair for many years.
